ABSV demands Justice for Freddie Ligiw and his family!

3/14/2014, San Jose, CA — Anakbayan Silicon Valley and PAWIS held a mobile “die-in” and mud stencil action demanding justice for Freddie Ligiw and his family. The action called for an end to state-sponsored violence in the Philippines. Members gathered starting at Martin Luther King Library on San Jose State University’s campus then marched to San Jose’s City Hall and ended the program at Cesar Chavez Memorial Park. ABSV’s statement was handed out to raise awareness in the local community. The program included members laying on the ground holding placards while their bodies are outlined with chalk to call attention to the ongoing extrajudicial killings occurring in the Philippines. At the end, members marched through downtown San Jose, chanting and concluding by reading a statement to demand Justice for Freddie Ligiw and his family, and to stop US aid to to the Philippine government. The pictures are shown below.

We demand full investigation and justice for Freddie Ligiw and his family. We want his vision of genuine national democracy in the Philippines to be realized. End state sponsored impunity now!” -Jeff Stanley, ABSV Member
