Saturday 10/19 Stanford – ABSV held an ED on Militarization in the Philippines at Stanford University. The educational discussion informed the youth on the effects that militarization has caused in the Philippines such as the abandonment of Ameriasian children, environmental destruction, and countless human rights violations, to name a few. Different types of exercises were used to further convey the theme of the ED and the youth showcased their talents with activities such as improvisational scenes and creating graph charts. At the end of the night the room was open to discussion on how to further inform people about Militarization in the Philippines and it turned out to be a very lively discussion with great ideas from the youth. Thanks to the orgs that attended which include Youth from Fremont High School, Eclipse Rising, and Stanford Students for Palestinian Equal Rights.
